Democracy depends on the rule of law. With the Roberts’ court establishing a lawless and privileged presidential candidate, democracy in the United States is poisoned, and, given his victory, will soon collapse. The nation that survives will not be democratic, though it may use the same flags, buildings, customs and traditions, the latter soon broken and tamed to the surviving elite’s harness.
We definitely live in interesting times, eh? I believe it was Pogo who said something like, “I have seen the enemy and he is us”?? I knew the country, as we know it would die–they all do–but I didn’t know it would happen so soon, or so fast, and that SCOTUS would help the wrong side.
